DOUG’S BARBER SHOP GOING STRONG SINCE 1929

From the moment you walk past the barber pole outside the front door, you know this is as old school as it gets.

A Heights institution since 1929, Doug’s Barber Shop does things the old-fashioned way, offering great haircuts for low prices.

One of the coolest and oldest barber shops in Houston, Doug’s is known for traditional steam towel straight razor shaves, tapered haircuts, shoe shines, no appointments and cash only.

From 1960’s newspaper headlines to vintage phones, cash registers and model airplanes– the walls are plastered with history.

Hollywood has noticed Doug’s as well. Five scenes of the blockbuster movie Rushmore, staring Bill Murray was filmed at Doug’s back in 1998.

The barbers, who are just as unique as the décor, have more than 100 years of experience combined.
