Coaching Changes in College Football

This past weekend in college football saw some big announcements and changes in coaching.

What has been speculated and considered to be a done deal for a few weeks now was confirmed Saturday when the University of Texas officially fired head coach Charlie Strong and announced the hiring of University of Houston head coach Tom Herman to the same position. Herman went 22-4 in two seasons as Houston’s head coach, and was one of the hottest coaching commodities around.

LSU also had a big announcement when they stripped Ed Orgeron of his “interim” tag and replaced it with head coach. Orgeron was named interim head coach of the team earlier this season after the mid-season firing of then-head coach Les Miles. Orgeron went 5-2 at the helm of LSU and looks to continue his success as the official head coach.
