Milwaukee barbers “Cut Out the Violence” at Sherman Park

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) — Local barbers headed to Sherman Park in Milwaukee Wednesday to make a difference after last weekend’s violence.
They encouraged everyone to “Cut Out the Violence” by giving free haircuts to kids 17 and under.
During the trims, the barbers listened to the kids and tried to point them in the right direction. “I’m talking to kids when I’m not cutting hair, I just feel it’s one of my callings.  Whether they hear me or hear their parents as long as they hear something positive and nothing negative I think that’s a great start for them,” Antone Smith told WISN.
Musicians and poets also joined the barbers at the park, encouraging everyone to stick together.
